A Sneak Peek at my Badminton Training

Curious about what my training is like? Well, here is a chance to see what goes on! (And a chance to see my coaches family and what common people eat in China.) This week’s training was pretty typical and will give you a good idea of what it is like (although obviously each week we train different aspects. This week was covering the basics as we had a 2 months break.)

And for the record, the next day my forearm was really sore! I expected a little soreness from all the front of the net training, but I think it was the 31 pound racket that did it. I’ll stay away from that from now on!

I guess you mean a 31lb Strung racket ? you wouldn’t be able to lift a 31lb racket above your head ?

Noticed that you overuse your arm with your net shots, up and down like a yo-yo, close to the net shots should be like knocking on a door ?

Interesting videos with nice asides like seeing some of the town, your coaches family etc and you put yourself out there good and bad ??. Impressed ?

Haha, good point. I guess I didn’t make that totally clear. A 31 pound racket, can you imagine it?

And yeah, one of my major problems is dropping my racket all the time, even after a serve which is so stupid and prevents me from really catching the return of serve. Every time I tell myself “racket up!” and everytime it goes low. But it’s getting better (believe it or not) but still something I need a lot of work on. But a constant source of frustration for my poor coach. 😉
