Today is Chinese New Year and the start of Spring Festival (the biggest holiday in China). Each year has an animal of the zodiac and this year it is the year of the dog. If you were born in 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994 or 2006 then it is your year! You might think that is awesome, but actually your zodiac year is considered unlucky and you need to constantly wear red to ward off the bad luck (might I suggest a red sweat band when you play badminton or some red sports underwear?)
What did I do to celebrate? Went to Yang Pings house (my badminton friend) and sat with his dog while watching badminton. As it is the year of the dog I felt like that was appropriate. We also ate some delicious hot pot.
